Gen-4.5 pricing, explained
Benchmark-leading quality inside the industry's best creative toolset. A 10-second clip runs $0.50–$2.50 depending on tier — before retakes.
Rates shown at each model's base tier, verified July 2026 from official vendor pricing pages and documentation. Vendors change prices without notice — see methodology.
How the pricing works
Runway sells credits at $0.01 each on the API, and each model burns credits at a different rate: Gen-4.5 uses 25 credits per second ($0.25/s), Gen-4 uses 12 ($0.12/s), and Gen-4 Turbo uses 5 ($0.05/s). Subscriptions bundle credits cheaper: Standard ($12/mo, 625 credits), Pro ($28/mo annual, 2,250 credits) and Max ($76/mo, 9,500 credits). On Pro, the effective credit price drops to about $0.012 — roughly 37% cheaper per credit than Standard.
What the pricing page doesn't tell you
Do the credit math before subscribing: 625 credits on Standard buys just 25 seconds of Gen-4.5 per month. If your primary model is the flagship, Pro is the realistic entry point. One quiet advantage: paid Runway plans also include access to Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 Pro and Seedance from the same dashboard, which can replace multiple subscriptions.
And the universal one: retakes. Budget every rate above at ×1.5 to ×3 depending on how demanding your shots are — that multiplier, not the sticker price, decides your real bill.
