How to read this table
The per-second column is the honest number. Vendors love quoting "credits" because a credit means nothing without a conversion rate — Runway's 25 credits per second at $0.01 per credit is really $0.25/s. Once everything is in dollars per second, the market splits into three tiers:
- Budget ($0.04–0.07/s): Vidu, Wan 2.6, Gen-4 Turbo, Veo 3.1 Lite, Seedance at 480p. For drafts, B-roll and high-volume channels.
- Mid ($0.10–0.15/s): Sora 2, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 Fast, Gen-4. Strong quality with room to iterate.
- Premium ($0.25–0.50/s): Gen-4.5, Sora 2 Pro, Veo 3.1 Standard. Hero shots, dialogue and client work.
